It’s now well-known that it’s essential for puppies to have happy relaxed experiences as they grow up. If they’re kept in too much isolation, they end up being frightened by normal experiences of modern life. For this reason, we run regular puppy parties at Brayvet, allowing pups to meet other pups in a calm safe environment. This allows pups to get used to the normal social interactions when they’re young, so that they’ll be friendlier, more relaxed dogs when they grow up.

To watch one of Brayvet’s free puppy parties, as shown on TV3′s Ireland AM recently click here (please bear with the short delay at the start for adverts on the TV3 clip).

At Brayvet, we are running our usual campaign to help feed stray animals over Christmas.

Animal rescue centres are doing great work all over Ireland, taking in abandoned animals and nurturing them until they have found good homes. This work often goes unrecognised by the public. The rescue centres have very significant overheads, and the cost of feeding the rescued animals is a big part of the cost of running the centres. Over the Christmas period, when the rest of the country closes down for holidays, the dedicated volunteers in animal rescue centres will continue their daily routine of feeding and caring for the stray animals.

As a gesture of support, we are organising a food collection on behalf of two Animal Rescue centres – ASH Animal Rescue and Sharpes Hill Animal Sanctuary, run by the Wicklow SPCA.

If you would like to make a donation – either of pet food, or of money to be used to buy food, please leave this in to our reception at Brayvet.
